I just bought and intel HNS2600JF unit with a dual CPU LGA2011 motherboard, intels S2600JF. The board has 2 modern looking 6 pins. Should a regular power connector work? I can't figure out how to power it, please help!

Solution
While it could be done, it would require modification of an ATX PSU's wiring. I would not recommend it unless very familiar with PSU's and their workings. There would still remain the problem of powering on the PSU which is normally done through the 24 pin. While the 24 pin can be "jumped" to stay on continuously, again, I would not recommend that.

Three links I used to find info about the board and connectors:
Intel Server Board S2600JF Technical Product Specification
S2600JF Interactive Layout
Playtools "All about the various PC power supply cables and connectors"
