I just bought the ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 and noticed my current power supply (about 3 years old) won't fit the motherboard. The 24pin (20+4) connects fine. But there's a new one I've never seen. I'm used to seeing the 4 pin black/yellow cable from the PSU connect to the MOBO right next to the CPU, but this time it's an 8-pin.

Can anyone help and tell me what I need? Will an adapter work or will I need a whole new PSU?

Thanks

Hello FloydTheDuck;

Your OCZ StealthXStream OCZ700SXS should have 1 X 4+4-pin CPU power connector for that 8pin MB slot.
OCZ StealthXStream OCZ700SXS 700-Watt Power Supply

It's the 4-Pin/8-Pin EPS Connector x1

Ok, there was a 6-pin and a 6+2pin PCI-E connectors, and there were two 4-pin connectors labeled 'CPU1" and 'CPU2'... I tried the CPU connectors side by side, maybe I had one of them upside down when I tried them. I'll try again when I'm home tonight.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll let you know how it turns out.
