[SOLVED] Audacity took up all my drive space when trying to import a song, and I don't know how to get rid of it ?

I tried opening a file on audacity (it was 12 hours long), and suddenly while using my pc I got popups that my storage is full. When I go check, I have 0 bytes left. This only occured when I tried importing in audacity.

I have tried deleting my temp files, I have deleted X-Plane, which took like 20gb but for some reason I still only have 8gb left of free space, and those files that audacity made are still lying around somewhere.

Can someone help me with where I could search? Or maybe an app that can delete them?

Have a look in the AppData\Local\Audacity\SessionData folder.

Note that the AppData folder is hidden by default so you may need to go into Folder Options and set it to show hidden folders and files.

If that doesn't help then I can recommend a tool that'll help locate that pesky file.

I found the file and it cleared 30gb of space. Thank you for the help.

If you want to edit that 12 hour file, and have an external drive, you can set Audacity to write its project files to the external drive. Depending on the bit depth and sample rate, the project can take up quite a lot of space - far more than the original audio.
