When I watch content on the internet whether it be Twitch, Youtube or Netflix when playing a game on my other monitor, the audio will not sync with the video. However when I turn off HTML5 on Twitch the audio and video sync perfectly but when I try to reload the stream it wont load.

All of this happens on Chrome but when I tried Internet Explorer Twitch didn't load at all. I dont think that my specs are the problem as I have a GTX 1080 and an I7 7700K.

When I troubleshoot sound in windows 10 it comes up saying "Problems found: Generic Audio Driver"

Thanks for reading.

EDIT: You read my mind uploading those pictures haha

What's your audio chipset? Have you tried updating the drivers? (I can help you find the answer to this if you're not sure)

Did this start happening recently? Can you think of any event that may have triggered it?

What playback devices do you have available to you?
For the selected playback device, can you check to see what setting you have under "default format"
Playback Devices > Right click on the default, currently selected device > click on "Properties" from the context menu
> Click on the advanced tab to see the Default Format setting.
Some people suggest changing this setting may fix problems, so you may want to experiment.
However, if nothing changes, I'd stick to 48k Hz

And does this happen only when you're gaming and streaming? Or all the time?
If like your post says, this only happens when the system focus isn't on the streaming video (when playing a game), that might be a clue to the issue

Thank you for the reply.

I have tried updating my realtek drivers in the past. The issue has been happening for a while and I gave up and just dealt with it but I have decided try again.

I have also tried changing the format.

I have also just noticed that desync does happen a little bit when I just watch a stream and not playing a game but playing a game makes it much much worse.

My audio chip set is:

Okay, I think I might have an idea

Test this out for me. Go to Chrome, click the "Customize and control Google Chrome" button (the three vertical dots in the top right, beneath the X)

Then click on settings, and scroll down to the advanced tab at the bottom.

Then scroll down some more until you reach "Use Hardware Acceleration." This is under the System category and should be one of the last options.
Try turning off hardware acceleration and see if that fixes the issue.

Best of luck!

Bummer!

Okay, couple more options.

Some people suggest updating BIOS might fix this, but that's definitely a last resort option.

Instead, you might want to check out your power plan settings in Windows.
Hit the windows key to bring up the start menu. Now type: "power" and click on the "Edit Power Plan" result.
We'll check back in on this page, but first go to the top bar where it says: "Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings" and click on "Power Options."

Here, make sure you are using "High Performance." And click on "Change plan Settings" next to the High Performance Option
Now that we're back here, click on the Change advanced power settings option right below the sleep timer settings around the middle of the screen.

This will open a new window. Use the side-scrollbar (be careful using the mouse wheel, it might just change the plan you're editing) and scroll down until you find: "Processor Power Management"
Expand this tab and make sure the setting is set to "100%"

Other than that, you can try restarting your PC to edit BIOS settings. The setting you're looking for is "ErP Ready." If you find this option, disable it. Your BIOS might not have this option, don't worry about it if you can't find it.

Hope this helps! Not entirely sure what might be causing the problem. Again, did you ever right click on your playback device, clicked properties, clicked Advanced, then checked what your Default Format was set to?

The power options are already on high performance and the setting is on 100% and also that setting wasn't in my BIOS but don't worry about it I really appreciate your time and you are doing more than enough to help!

Actually something could have worked because after a restart it seems to be working. Im going to assume that it was hardware acceleration as that is the only thing I changed. So thank you, you have really helped me out!
