Audio buzzing/humming through headphones when putting load on GPU.

Whenever I play 3D accelerated games I can hear a very faint audio buzzing coming through the headphones at the main menu. This really isn't an issue if other audio/music is playing. This happens in every game I play that puts a load on the GPU. I can also sometimes very faintly hear it in a web browser while scrolling my mouse wheel.

Used the onboard GPU, no change until I switch to HDMI. Same goes for the HDMI port on the dedicated GPU. With the above stated, I'm assuming it's electromagnetic interference with the onboard audio. Even unplugged the front panel audio connectors, no change.

PC specs
i5-6600K
Asus Z170-A
Gskill ripjaws 2x8GB DDR4 2400
EVGA GTX 960 4GB SSC
EVGA 500W PSU

I do not have an extra headset, power supply, or GPU to do any troubleshooting. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I'm at the point of pulling my hair out as I can't solve this annoying issue.

Hey Man,

I think I got pretty much the same issue. I built an entirely new PC last week. Had the Audio output noise problem, tried all the cable magic, but no use, then I tried plugging my earphone into the monitor -> problem solved.
Hope I could help!

Same here. I can't use headphones when gaming because of this. Especially during loading screens, it will literally make me deaf. It has been 3 years like that, i couldn't find any fix. I had 4 gpu, 3 psu rma when i was putting this system together. At last it lessened and doesn't happen below 100 fps, at least not directly out of computer. But, from headphones, still i hear the same buzzing sound. I assume my motherboard is the guilty, as i 've already replaced gpu and psu many times.
