audio cable with hdmi adapter

i bought a vga to hdmi adapter. but i have alsi got an audio cable. where to connect it ?

Ok, is it a VGA to HDMI or an HDMI to VGA?

If you're outputting VGA to HDMI, you need to connect the audio cable to your computers audio output.

I suspect you have an HDMI to VGA, in which case the audio 'out' comes from the HDMI, and you need to put the audio cable into your monitor (if it has built in speakers) or to your speakers.

3.5mm headphone jack/TOSLINK/RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack/TOSLINK/RCA

There are adapter out there to convert any of the three depending on what you have on both ends.
