History:- When I had my previous PC (now died) with Windows Windows XP I was able to create/burn audio CD's that would play on any Audio CD player including my home music centre which is a Sanyo DC-X750 DSSS approximately 15 years old (maybe a little older.)
Problem:- Since purchasing this new H P laptop (December 2012) with Windows 8, I am no longer able to create/burn audio CD's that will play on my Sanyo DC-X750 DSSS music centre.
I have successfully extracted the tracks from cassette tapes and / or CD's using Audacity software, the saved tracks are as .wav format.
The created/burned CD's will play on this (HP Pavillion g6-2210-sa) laptop, my very old Contessa Tower PC with Windows 98 and my TV FreeView box which has VCR and DVD player, in effect it seems they will play on younger technology audio CD player but will not play on my older home music centre.
I have tried alternative CD burning programs ie. CyberLink's Power2go (supplied with this machine, CDburnerXP as well Windows Media Player(supplied with this machine) all with the same result.
The tracks created are .cda files and would appear to be identical to the audio CD's previously burned using XP and Sonic's Recordnow.
Where selectable I have chosen the lowest burn speed and ensured that Audio CD and the finalise option is checked where applicable.
There are no error messages presented.
I have viewed HP and MS forums but have been unable to find a solution there.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions
