I have an HP Z440 Workstation running Windows 10 with Realtek audio and an Intel Xeon E5-1650 v3 @ 3.5 GHz processor. Starting a few days ago, all the audio coming out of my computer has begun to crackle occasionally. I've tested this on various headphones and speakers, though all through the same 3.5mm port. Sometimes, the audio becomes especially bad and repeats the same half-second clip 10-15 times in a row, while at the same time my cursor moves inconsistently, as if it's only taking input from my mouse half the time or so. The mouse movement makes me believe it's probably not the 3.5mm jack that is causing the problem, but I'm not sure what could be. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the audio and mouse drivers, and the situation has not improved. What could the problem be, and what should I do to try to fix it?
