So I just built my first pc 2 weeks ago, and I've encountered a problem. Everytime I play games for over half an hour my PC audio begins to crackle and my mouse freezes. When I Turn my computer off everything works perfectly again. I can't find a good solution, It would be a waste of money if i can only browse the Internet. Please help.

Sounds like it might be a problem with your motherboard if both on board audio and a usb device are both going out. But I would agree with Barty1884 in saying that you should check your temps to make sure they're not to high.

Motherboard definitely sounds a possibility. Rule out overheating first of all.

OP - you only specifically mentioned audio & mouse. I'm assuming your getting a total freeze? Keyboard etc too?
If it's only your mouse, you might want to try another USB slot / another mouse - or even a PS/2 mouse just to identify if it's USB ports or not.

If I was to guess, I'd think you're overheating but if you're not, it's your motherboard.

I tried other USB ports even USB 3 ports but still doesn't work after the problem occurs.
Mouse is fine, had it half a year on my older PC, never gave me any problem.

Could it be my graphics card? I saw some other forums which pointed out that the problems source is their graphics card. Mine was second had and my mobp is brand new so i dont think my mobo is the source.

If you can test with another graphics card you could either rule it out or solve your problem. If you don't have another card to test with you might have the option of using on-board graphics with your setup.

Graphics card is possible, I guess.

Don't necessarily rule out your mobo just because it's new. Defects do exist, it's why mobo's can be DOA. They can fail in a relatively short space of time like any other component.

For your mouse to be the only thing giving out is really strange, especially if your keyboard still works.
Assuming you've tried it in other USB ports from the outset (ie not just changing it once it freezes up) rather than continuing to use the same one?

GPU seems unlikely, regardless of it being secondhand, but is worth checking out.

Try different ports
Make sure drivers are updated (I don't see your OS, so if you're on W10 it's possible it's forcing beta or even old drivers - you can disable: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2763685/stop-windows-automatically-updating-device-drivers.html
& watch your temps (although that doesn't seem as likely now).

If you can get your hands on another GPU to test out it would be ideal (you can test your PCIe slot that way too - if you go to onboard it wouldn;t necessarily determine the GPU is at fault).
