Hi, I just bought my new Dell Precision T3500, all is well. I wanted to use Stereo Mix, came up as ''Currently Unavailable'', and thought since it was a fresh install I was missing drivers. Went to dell, downloaded the 3 reccomended drivers, and I got an error when I tried to install the third one (Creative Labs PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Application) it gave me an error saying no compatible devices were on my device, and then my earbuds started blaring this really weird sound in my ears. I took it out of the jack then plugged it in again, and it was a different sound. Rinse repeat.

I have no idea of what's wrong and just want to make the sound go away.

I've seen strange viruses latch onto network adapter drivers... weird as it is... its even weirder to fix.

if its software issue. then you have to uninstall reinstall the drivers again.

do some virus scanning... rootkit scanning/ maleware and adware scanning... clean the system.

if it doesn't go away then maby try the netowrk adaptor trick.... but the thing is it has to be disenabled in the bios; driver unistalled in safe mode; reboot once; shut down and re-enabled in bios then install the latest driver in safemode.... forget why but its really strange.... otherwise if you find a bunch if viruses i'd do a new install of windows.
