[SOLVED] Audio Gone !!

I am running an uptodate windows 10. when I started up I found that the 'loudspeaker' (task bar) would not come out of 'mute'. I tried playing a song no go. On going to 'device manager' I found all my audio devices there,and apparently working well. I then checked lower down on 'sound' for the controllers these also appeared OK. on going to the 'control panel' -sound it said "no devices fitted" I then switched off and looked at my 'bios' and the audio was set to on. I uninstalled my controllers (as suggested) and restarted still no change. iI run ' driver easy' and updated any old drivers including an audio one. still no change. I went to I tried to 'restore' and found that there was no restore after the last update. as you can tell I've run out of Ideas and am hoping one of you experts can come up with some ideas - Please

Have you tried looking in "PC Settings > System > Sound" rather than Control Panel?

Audio control panel, right click speaker and tunnel in, test sound there as well.
