Audio/headphone jack not working new pc build

Hey i jsut build a gaming pc, ryzen 5 1600, ASRock B350, Corsair 8 gb ram, GTX 1060 3gb Zotac mini. Windows 10 64 bit

I have WORKING headphones from apple. I plug them into the front jack (microphone) to talk to my friends in game. Whenever i plug them in sound is recognized but it comes out of my monitor speakers. I dont know what to do to fix it.. I want my friends to hear me when we are playing games but idk what to do. please help. thanks !

Hello! I experienced the same problem with my Bluetooth Headphones. I could connect them, however, I could only get sound from the speakers. In order to fix it, you should try selecting the sound icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. left click and you should get options to either connect to speakers or the connected headphones. If this does not work, then RIGHT click on the sound icon and you should see an option with called sound, once there you should be able to see all devices connected. Select the headphones and set them as default. Hope this helps!
