Using Shure SE215 pro wired earbuds, if I plug them into my front TCC-QL5E media panel jack the audio is reversed but if I plug into the rear jack on the motherboard it's fine. Thought maybe the media panel was wired wrong so I got a new one, same thing.

I can't find any settings that can control this, and I can't find anything on how to fix it.
Any help?

This media panel?

Do you have any other audio devices on which to test the earbuds?

Basically determine which earbud is Left, which is Right. Consistently.

I would not be surprised if the front media jack panel is reversed.

There are adapters available:

As for TRS the following link may prove helpful as well.

Yep, that one.

Tested on my laptop and my Switch, works correctly on both.
Reversed on two units? It is a cheap china unit so it certainly is within the realm of possibility. I guess I'll just send them both back and try another brand.

"Reversed on two units." Actually not surprising.

And something came to mind.

Looking back at the link to check I realized that there was some extra "effort" there regarding the orientation of the 4 PIN Power Connection.

Power connectors (Molex) are normally keyed to prevent wrong ("inverse") connections between plug and socket. As noted in the text, the direction of the connection could cause a short circuit.

Specifically: "Note: 4pin power connector is to pay attention to the direction of connection, otherwise it will cause a short circuit, the product map has the correct link method. "

Apparently the manufacturer did not socket the media panel to prevent an inverse connection and may have chosen "inverse" (versus "wrong" or "incorrect") as a way to gloss over the matter. Check the plug and socket to ensure that they are correctly connected. Any real keying?

However, I do not believe that that in itself is causing the audio issue.

My belief being that the manufacturer likewise cut some other corner regarding the front media jack which effectively reversed audio.

Either component(s) or assembly. Without any QA or testing. And did not bother to correct if a problem was found.

Agree. Send the boxes back and try another product.

Do be aware that some products are the same - just branded differently.
