I've just recently run into this weird issue where i USE to be able to just change my audio output (at the bottom right of my screen) from my headphones (Astro's A40's W/ Mixamp) to my desk speakers (Realtek Audio) and vice versa and can have everything output to that without any further necessary changes. But now I have to go into every application (discord, Games w/ voice chat etc.) and change the output to whatever i need. plus, changing my output to the bottom right as well.

Is there any specific reason why this would happen? i run my GeForce experience (graphics card drivers) pretty regularly to update my driver's, so that could be the only thing that i see that could mess with how everything was setup previously.

I've been into my Device manager uninstalling and re-installing audio driver's and making certain devices the default communication and default audio device but to no avail, i don't know what settings i had before to make this even possible but i'm looking for all and every possible way to revert these setting and or reset everything to default( even though i've already tried resetting but maybe i'm missing something)

Thanks in advance!

More like one of the Win updates, where idea was that folks doesn't have to change the audio output constantly. E.g having headset for Discord and speakers for web browser. But i get that when you use only one output device at a time and like to have the output changed for all applications at once, rather than individually.

Now, i don't know if that can be done within Win anymore, since for several years, i've used one small application just to that.
So, fix: Soundswitch,

With Soundswitch, i can use the default hotkey of Crtl + Alt + F11 to switch very easily between my headset and speakers. Though, that hotkey can also be changed. Soundswitch also works on recording devices too if you have more than one (i have three). Default hotkey switching between recording devices is Crtl + Alt + F7.
Just don't forget to mark the needed devices within Soundswitch settings if you want to switch between them with hotkey.
