[SOLVED] audio issues on lubuntu 18.04

Hello. I have an asus eepc that i installed lubuntu 18.04 in it. While it was running windows xp, i had no issues with the sound and i dont remember installing any drivers. Once i installed lubuntu 18.04, there are cracks and glitces on the sound and there are no audio drivers for linux i can download. The issue reains when I plug in headphones. Any solutions?

Can you try to boot up Linux Lite instead, just to try - it may or may not have better support.

Can you run this two commands and post the output - just to see what audio card is present on your laptop ?
cat /proc/asound/cards
lspci -v | grep -i audio

First of all thanks for the reply. Secondly I tried Linux lite 3.0, same results. Sounds like the machine was on 100% and was lagging. My audio card is: hda Intel mid, Inteo corporation system controller hub(svh poulsbo) hd audio

The version 3.0 is very old. Can't your computer run 64bit os ?

No it can't. It runs on a Intel atom z250 with GMA 500 for integrated graphics, 2gb of ddr2 ram and a 120 gb ssd

I just uninstalled pulse audio and the issue was fixed
