I use my headset in between my PS4 and my PC, so unplugging the headphone jack all the time is very normal. But one day, I plugged it back into my computer and the audio doesn't work. It says that my monitor is connected for audio (monitor has no speakers) and my headset is disconnected. I cant really use the front audio jack because it makes some very odd noises when I play sound, so I have to use the back audio jack. If I plug the headset in nothing happens at all, and when I went to check playback devices, it says that it HAS TO BE plugged into the front audio jack. I have no clue.

Solution
You could try unplugging the audio connector that runs from the case to the motherboard and plug it back in. Also try rerouting the cable; maybe there's some interference thats causing the odd noises. that way you could use your front if the back connector went bad.

if that doesn't work you could look on asrock's website for updated audio drivers. Also you can disable the monitor in the "playback Devices" tab because that runs through HDMI and might be confusing things. Sometimes the back is a line out which doesn't play correctly on headsets. It's basically an unamplified signal which works well for external speakers with a built in amplifier.

Also Iv'e been plugging my Xbox controller into my PC to run my sound through because my soundcard broke. I'm not sure if a playstation controller can connect to windows. The only problem is I have to re sync it with my Xbox every time because it resets the wireless information.

Solution

Okay so I decided to plug some ear buds in, and still nothing happened, still said "no audio devices connected". So I plugged my headset back in and what do you know, it works fine again. So Idk if i just had to re calibrate it or something? But now it works fine.

I'm glad it works, thats kind of strange. Sounds like it was either an audio driver issue or a sound card issue.
