I'm on Windows 10 version 20H2 with a Realtek integrated audio chip on my Gigabyte Z170 HD3P.
I had an automatic OS update a few days ago which enabled Windows Sonic, maxed my audio and more importantly introduced this issue where all sound playback stops for a few seconds preceeded by a noise similar to when I unplug my headphone jack.
The fix I attempted for this was to reinstall my audio driver, but that keeps running into an issue. The Realtek Installer wizard prompts me to have the previous driver uninstalled, then have my pc restarted, then it will continue the installation process. So far every time I restarted my pc after it supposedly uninstalled it tried to uninstall the driver again and asked to restart the pc again, looping endlessly. Somehow I still have an audio driver installed currently, but the sound cutting off at times issue still remains.
What can I do to fix this?
