Hi, all! I am kind of confused here, I just bought a pre-built Asus M32 series computer and I am having audio troubles. For some reason the rear headphone jack on the desktop is WAY louder on 50% volume than the front jack, using my headphones. Can anyone help me fix this or tell me why?

Thanks for your help.

normally things are the other way around: the front is normally louder than the rear since generally the front is amplifier more strongly while the rear is not to better connect to speakers or aux sources.

my guess would be that its either a software issue (such as volume levels or eq settings being different for the front than rear) in the driver software provided or that if its a hardware issue for some reason the front jack is not amplified as much as the rear. first i've heard of this though.

Hi
Could be a loose connection.
Trace the front panel cable to the motherboard, then unplug it, make sure the connection pins are clean and refit it and while you are tracing the cable make sure it is undamaged.
Even a few ohms of extra resistance can make a difference to the volume.
