Hello everyone
I'm currently planning to build a desktop to handle audio production, using Steinberg's Cubase and Digidesign's ProTools. However, I'm having trouble deciding on a processor. First, AMD or Intel? Second, dual core or not?
For audio, bandwidth is extremely important when processing. I'm just unsure whether the dual core will be to my advantage (I think it will, but I'm not sure). The audio program processes the audio in the background, so I believe these two will fully utilize the dual core (I think?).
And if Intel dual core is the way to go, would it be worth the extra $500 for the Extreme Intel D processor to have dual core with Hyper Threading?
Many thanks!
