Audio sound not 7.1

I have just installed an A88x-g45 Motherboard but I cant get any 5.1 or 7.1 audio to come through the optical out jack that connects to my av reciever. It worked fine with my gigabyte ma78 board but just 2 channels with this new board is there any settings i need or software. Cheers.

The below factors can also cause the above listed problems:

There are several audio drivers on the same computer to confuse the machine.
Realtek ALC1150 driver is not enabled while users try everything to use it.
Realtek ALC1150 driver is enabled but not set as default when trying to use Realtek’s audio media.
Conflicts among installed audio drivers/programs/services.

Ok as you can tell im new to this forum I have not got a solution just pressed it by mistake.

do you have a sepate sound card?
or only the audio chipset on the mobo?

download the audio driver and install it
restart the pc
set the audio driver as default in the hardware management of windows

Thank You for your help I had the driver installed but I had the bitrate on 96000khz so was only coming through 2 speakers. changed it to 48khz & it came through. Though I still have no rear speaker but I can cope with that.
