Hey all, I recently put together an Asus FX990 R2.0 motherboard with x2 Radeon 6950 graphics cards but then i noticed it started heating up cause the cards were too close to eachother so i decided to take the bottom one out. When i did that, all sounds completely stopped. I tried everything. Checked the bios if it sounds were disabled and if i could enable them again and there was no option for that. I re-installed new Realtek drivers, uninstalled them and re-installed them again. I do have AMD high definition audio including Realtek under sounds in device management. I tried uninstalling the AMD high definition audio as well but whenever i restart the pc they just re-appear again as if i never uninstalled them. They're both up to date with the latest drivers. I tried removing the graphics card again and re-installing it but that didn't work either. I'm running out of ideas.
Info:
Windows 7 pro 64bit
ASUS Sabertooth FX 990 R2.0 motherboard
FX 8320 AMD Processor
16GB (8x2) 1866 DDR3 RAM (for some reason the bios will only allow up to 1600 mhz)
Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 graphic card
(Speakers are plugged in the green jack. I also tried them on my laptop and they work fine.)
Please help!
