audio stops while playing games

hey guys!! my problem is that audio stops working while playing games but if i open a new window to check whether sounds are working or not(for eg. play music or open a youtube video), everything is just normal.
i did a clean install of windows 10 and reinstalled all the latest drivers and software that i have previously installed, then after that i installed my games and there is no audio in the games(in gta 5 & bioshock infinite). but to my surrpise audio does paly in witcher 3 and shadow of war.
i have tried reinstalling all the drivers again and my windows version is 1703.
system specs-
r5 1600, asus b350 plus motherboard, 16gb 2400mhz ddr4 ram, msi gtx 1060 6gb, 128gb liteon ssd, 4tb seagate hdd

did you check in those for the audio settings specialy if you have a mike you could have to reset the audio in those games .

actually i dont have a dedicated mike, but i do ahave a line in microphone in my sony xb450 headphones.

all the volumes are set to max in in-game settings..i have also tried reinstalling both the games....still no change

you have sound in others games see your board audio panel what it says for the headphones and mike also this set have 4 pins connector did you use the y splitter to connect both mic and headphones .

yes i use a y splitter for both headphones and mike. everytime i plug in my headphones it automatically detects my headphones and transfer audio to them(if any audio playback is going on). this used to happen in games also but now there is simply no audio( in any of the 3 audio devices i use- haedphones in front panel, 2. speakers, and another earphones that are connected to my monitor) in these 2 games only...in all other apps or games everything is good.

could you post a picture of this set up something in ti might interfer with sound also the picture of audio control panel for speaker and mic connection that are detect .

Never mind....i just formatted it 1 more time and updated my BIOS... Everything is fine now..thank you for your help though..!!!
