Hi All

I am planning to build a PC around AU $1000 with no graphic card as yet

Already own a 1080p monitor, and would add gtx 2070 or 2080 in mid 2019

Please let me know if i have chosen the best possible components within my budget $1000

Your guidance is much appreciated, here is my components list:

1. Intel - Core i5-8600K 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor - $390
2. Asus - PRIME Z390-P ATX LGA1151 Motherboard - $230
3. Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory - $105
4. Samsung - 960 EVO 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive - $145
5. EVGA - SuperNOVA NEX 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply - $129
6. Microsoft - Windows 10 Pro Full 32/64-bit - $45
7. Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML240L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler - $86

Thanks

As a foundation for a high end gaming build, the parts list is good. The 8600K matched to a RTX 2070 will be about as good as it gets for 1080p and 1440p and the RTX 2080 will be perfect for 1440p and 4K. 16GB would be much more preferable and even better if you could change the ram to DDR4 3000 or 3200 all the better. Good choice on the Z390 motherboard as you can drop in a 9700K or 9900K in the future.

You could save yourself money by going the Ryzen 2600 route and it would provide a great gaming experience but if gaming is the ultimate priority then the Intel 8th and 9th Gen will always be just a little better.

Bottom line, this will be a good foundation but look to doubling the RAM to 16gb when you can...

Thanks, Planning to order it now, any suggestions on a decent case around $100?

No problems at all and have a good build.

In terms of cases, you can't really go wrong with the Fractal Design Meshify C TG which has great airflow and easy to build in for $109 Australian

Phanteks Eclipse for $89

And the NZXT H500 is also worth a look but it is $119.00

Thanks Again I really like NZXT H500, I wanted it in black, so saw this one - https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/p8x2FT/nzxt-h500-black-atx-mid-tower-case-ca-h500b-b1

was wondering if this will fit the CPU cooler? Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML240L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

or should i go for bigger case?

No problems at all...The NZXT H500 can take upto a 280mm AIO in the front so no problems on the Cooler Master ML240L in the front...
