Hi, I'm a newly architecture student and I'll be using Autocad and alot pretty soon.
My laptop is an Intel Core-i5 with 4Gb of ram
And I'm planning on upgrading my ram.
Should I get another 8gb (12gb total) or just upgrading it up to 8gb (4+4) would be enough? :)

Solution
I've run AutoCAD with 8 GB and with no issues. So 8 GB would probably be fine.

But, as suggested above, more memory might be preferable to allow headroom in the event that more memory may be required by AutoCAD, particularly if have several windows/drawings open simultaneously; and especially if doing 3D work.
