What would cause a game's automatic graphics detection setting to come back very low?
You know when you launch most games there is an option to select "Automatically Set Graphic Settings"....when I do it recommends "medium" when I am sure it should select "high".
For example, I launch Fallout 3(about a 5yr old game for those who don't know what it is, so very low graphic requirements according to today's standard". On my old graphic card (4650) it automatically selected "ultra" settings. With my new graphic card (7870) it automatically selected "medium settings". I know, I waited way too long for an upgrade.
The new card itself is fine and I of course can manually adjust the settings to ultra. I just thought it was very strange that the game selected "medium" with the new card but selected "ultra" with an ancient piece of crap.
-removed old driver then installed new video driver
-new card works perfectly fine
-driver is updated
