Automatic Maintenance any good?

Hi all,

I saw in my taskbar that a maintenance is in progress. What does Windows 8 do exactly in this maintenance? Should I turn it on or off? Is my computer slower when it is in progress?

Anything running in the background will have some impact on performance. The degree of which is dependent on your system specifications and what other things you are doing at the same time (like playing a game).
