Solution
The Master Boot Record (MBR) has been corrupted and needs to be repaired. An MBR reset will restore the MBR and the resulting drivers back to a working order.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to re-image the machine or re-install the OS.

In the future, be sure to back up your data with a disk imager (i.e. Macrium Reflect) or snapshot tool (i.e. RollBack Rx)
