Is there a way to configure the BIOS settings of the “M5A78L-M LX3” mainboard so that the computer may power on a certain time daily?

Wake from Sleep by Real Time Clock Alarm is the only option for that. (page 2-17 of User manual)

If I understand correctly, the device can only be put in a Sleep mode (while power is still being used) and then turned on again. If it is impossible to configure the BIOS to turn on a completely powered off computer (by using the timer powered by the CMOS battery), are there any other options? Are there some specially made clocks which can be connected to the mainboard and then configured to send the Power On signal at a certain time?

You could use a cheap timer for power plug. Set in BIOS to automatically start computer at power up.

Can you give a link to images with such timers which can be used with a mainboard, so that I may know how they look like?
