How well should I expect this...

..to work conected to my mainboard with this...

I was expecting it could destroy it or be very jittery or simply be poor quality audio. It matters less since I bought a Soundblaster Z (116 s to n) replacing the Auzentech (120 s to n).

The adapter being $35 I bought a used Soundblaster refurb for $50. I'm doing that based on unpredictability with the adapter and driver support but could it have worked perfect and should I have saved some $? I don't have the tech knowledge to know. Anyone know? I can still send back the Soundblaster Z.

I have heard the Soundblaster Z pops and crackles like Creative products ALWAYS have. Asus would be the alternative if they didn't have such poor software and driver support.

yes but my case should accommodate the height with absolutely no issue. Aren't half height cards also called low-profile cards? I thought it was a consideration for limited space builders???
