News AV1 Live Streaming Is Finally Coming To YouTube

Increasingly advanced technology used for increasingly childish content churned out by dumber and dumber humans.
Some of this childish content is incredibly smart.
Also there are incredibly many serious channels on the youtubes as well.
Taking away the printing presses (1440 AD ) from the peasants will not make the problem go away, you can argue all you want that they only use it to print bare ankled ladies.

"For normal use cases, EposVox found that 8mbps was the sweet spot for 1440P 60FPS, and around 15mbps for 1440P 60FPS. "
you probably meant 15 Mbps for 2160p not 1440p

Lol. Yea. Not a single thing of value on YouTube. Nope. Nothing like say talented programmers that make excellent tutorials for free for people wanting to get started. Or things like that for using UE, Unity etc, fixing a problem with a car, tons of things. I've searched youtube for "how To's" multiple times and gotten excellent info.

But hey, no one is forcing you to visit YT filled with it's... childish content that obviously is far above being worthy of your time and intellect... (duh there is a tons of that, just like there is tons of useless stuff on any site where people can post stuff).

Oh and it's not like more efficient video, audio codecs etc are helpful for the internet in general as they get adopted because of their improved efficiency, opening up higher quality video to people on slower connections etc...
