About 6 month back I bought a gigabyte mobo for replacing Asrock z87-Ext 4 and installed Win-7-x64 ult. sp1. I had to instal Win 7 because I could not get necessary drivers for 32 bit XP in Gigabyte website. I need to install 32-bit XP in order to use my working Umax scanner, which can support only 32-bit Win XP. My question to my forum friends is how to get necessary drivers for Win Xp so that I can install it in a separate partition in a dual-boot mode. While searching from the net, some third party drivers are available, but I don't know their reliability.

Thanks & regards,

If Gigabyte don't have Windows XP drivers the only sensible thing to do is replace your old scanner with a new one. Allowing an old device to force you in to using an old an insecure OS is an odd way to proceed anyhow, even if it was possible (which it isn't with that motherboard). You can buy a new & decent flatbed scanner from Amazon at very reasonable cost these days, or even an AIO multi-function printer with scanner built in (an excellent space-saving idea).

Hi Phillip,
You are very correct. Win Xp is definitely insecured. But my main OS will remain Win-7-x64. I want to make a small partition of 40gb for XP installation only for utilising scanner. Therefore installation of all the drivers are not necessary. Only chipset & graphics driver would serve my purpose. Actually my newly purchased Epson all-in-one scanner performance is very poor in terms of resolution & colour accuracy compared to old Umax. This is the reason for searching WinXP drivers for this MOBO
