Available Physical Memory significantly less than Total Physical Memory

Hello,

I tried to look up other threads that cover this, but couldn't find anything too relevant.

Under System Info, it reads that I have 8GB Installed and available RAM, but says only 2.28 GB is available. When simply using chrome, task manage shows 70% memory usage too. I know windows takes some of it, but it shouldn't be that much, right? Where did the rest go?

I wouldn't worry too much about this. This is a reading based on how the computer is being used at the moment. When you right click This PC, and select Properties does it say something like Install memory 8.00 GB (7.87 GB usable)? This is an actual reading of your installed memory. Windows will give different readings based on how the PC is being used.
