Hi,
I have 16GB of ram installed on my computer and when I right click on 'my computer' and click on properties it says 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable), which is fine.

However when I go onto system information it says:
Installed physical memory 16.0 GB
Total physical memory 15.9 GB
Available physical memory 13.2 GB

What is this available physical memory and why is it 3GB less than my total memory? Could it be that it's just because I have a few programs open on my operating system?

Thanks,
Dan.

Solution
the reason why is that all hardware need some access to main memory. The 3gb reserved is normal for Windows, the additional hardware that need memory. Nothing to worry about.

I have a gtx 760 with 2GB VRAM - would this affect it?
