Avalanche has both Airline and Airline II still available. Why don't you
buy it from them and help keep one of the few independent game companies
still around, in business?

I'd love to, since Mike Bennighof and I go back 25 years. Buying
direct from Avalanche to support them the best way possible was my
intent. But the web-site says that only "Airlines II" is available
any more; the original apparently being really unavailable once you
push down from the family games overview to its detail page. Only
"Airlines II" can be added to the "buy" basket, with the detail page
for "Airlines" saying it is OOP.

So I've gone ahead and ordered "Airlines II" on-line, since it looks
like a fun game for the entire family to play. I'll phone their 800
order desk this morning -- maybe they have a copy or two squirreled
away somewhere. If not then my request here stands: does anyone want
to part with the original "Airlines"? If I can't find one any other
way, I'll take my 10 year old with me to the next Gamex in LA and
trawl the vendors and flea-market areas.

Avalanche needs to fix their site then. The page I went to said "limited
number left" of Airline, that's why I sent my admonishment.

If I was incorrect, I apologize.

No offence taken.

Push down one level from that link and it tells you it's OOP....and
unfortunately for me there's no more in "the warehouse". So it's
either find it used on the 'net or get lucky at Gamex.
