Question Avast Antivirus

Apparently, you save 50$ if you pay 20$ for 1 year, 100$ if you pay 40$for 2 years & 150$ if you pay 60$ for 3 years of Avast premium protection. Are these discounts just BS or will the price actually increase back to the undiscounted amounts? I'd assume the former, but I'm just wondering. Also, are there any better, free antivirus programs which won't cause notifications to appear on my screen about me paying for the premium version?

The discounted prices paid , are good through the length of the protection chosen. Any distance beyond the purchased subscription , prices can and will be elevated.
