Soo I'm just wondering what bandwidth speeds others get with different ISPs so I can compare to my own.
My internet seems incredibly slow and can't seem to find a way to speed it up. I'm with Bell and have a maximum connection speed of 54 Mbps on wifi but my download speeds are around .5 - .75 Mbps... Task manager tells me the network utilization is about 1%, if that. Switching to a direct Ethernet connection hardly makes a difference, if any.

Well...there are 3 things in the chain:
Your PC. Ok...the LAN drivers are updated and all works
Your router - Do you rent this from them or did you buy one?
Your ISP - only they can fix that.

OK...1 more 'thing' - cabling. Bad ethernet cable, or bad DSL/phone wiring.

If it is not your PC or internal cabling, there is not a lot we can do here. Contact the ISP again, and have them send someone out.

If HE can get your full 5Mbps, Cat5e to the router, then you do indeed have some other internal issue.
Otherwise, it is all on them.

I get between .5 - .75 Mbps.. And yes I've done that with the modem, as well as switching cables, moving the modem around the home, moving the computer closer to the modem, Ethernet connection, and calling my ISP numerous times where they had me reset everything each time, and they told me that's the best they can do for my area apparently.. I wasn't satisfied with that answer so I'm still calling them back trying to find a solution. I'll try a new modem, before switching ISPs soon, just wanted to check in here to see if anybody has any idea
