Hey guys. I was just wondering if the list I've been given for suitable, budget level, PC parts are suitable for what I want the PC to do in the final outcome of it. I'm looking to play games such as planet side 2 at least on highest things and maybe BF3. Here's the list of PC parts I'm going to use in my build. If possible, give the average amount of fps I would get? :)

You "should" be able to max your settings on PS2 with that rig, the only downside @1080p it's going to be about 40 fps, maybe lower. The root cause of this problem would be your CPU, planetside 2 is one of the most CPU intensive games out there, if you upgrade that you probably can push it to 60 or so fps.

Also in BF3 if you're gaming @1080p as well, you're going to see 30 fps or so maxing that game.

As a side note: Both of these games look fantastic even at medium settings you should see 60+ at medium for both games.

If you're not going to be gaming at 1080p please let me know and I can re-evaluate your rig.

I just built my first gaming rig with the same CPU and a powercolor 7850 and I ended up returning them shortly because poor FPS. It was pretty quick for other stuff like browsing but Battlefield 3 and Planetside 2 were pretty much unplayable on high settings and sometimes on medium if there was allot of action. My honest opinion would be spend a little more $ on the CPU and GPU. The Power Color 7970LE can be found for $210-$240 and runs on the same architecture as the 79xx series.

So, the radeon 7850's a no - go? Also, I. Thinking about using the fx 6300 instead. Is that a good idea? Would it cause problems such as overheating?

Do not get an APU. Get an fx 6300. An hd7850 will only get you a mix of med/high settings. Mostly medium in tougher games.

If you want better FPS and higher settings, you need a better card. Simple as that. I have an i3 and a 7870 and I can max most games and play everything else on high.

Building a PC is simple for the most part. If the guy is going to charge you for it I would say take that money and invest in a better GPU. If your going for a strictly gaming rig the CPU won't matter as much as the GPU. say you were to get an intel I7 and a HD 7555 or for the same price an AMD FX-6300 and a HD7950 you would get much better FPS with the mid CPU and high end GPU

Except for the processor, your build looks really good! I actually have a XFX 7850 1GB with an i5-2400 and I get 40-50 FPS with Battlefield on Ultra (with 16x AF, high AA post but AA deferred disabled) at 1920*1200. Up to 1080p it's cheaper to get the 1GB version as the performance is virtually the same for the 1GB and 2GB versions.
Instead of the FX-4300 I would also recommend getting a FX-6300 and if your budget isn't tight I would really say, go for an i5-3470 and a ASRock Z77 Pro3 wich will certainly run PS2 smoothly.
