AverTV HD DVR

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this. This question will most likely sound very stupid, however I am not very tech savvy. I'm looking to get in Aver TV HD DVR to stream some PC games. Most notably league of legends, starcraft II, Outlast, and some Just Cause II. I've seen tutorials of people installing and using it, however they never show them plugging it into the monitor. Is this required? Or do I just need to put it in the PCI (E?) Slot and boot up the software. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Why would you do that? You don't want frame loss from fraps? Fraps works just fine. You can also use xsplit and other stuff.

I've used obs and I'm going to use it after I get a capture card. However my stream isn't smooth, I suspect I don't have enough CPU/GPU power.

Usually if your stream isn't smooth it is your internet do you have atleast 30 download and 15 upload?

i5 3570k, GTX 650, and 8GB of ram. My upload is like. 4

if you stream 1080p you need like 10 mbps upload.

hmm.. stream right now I want to see it. If you are watching it yourself it might lag because you are streaming and watching at same time.

I cant stream right now. However, I can provide a VOD of the last time i streamed. Basically cranked all streaming settings to the lowest possible (if you know how obs works, put ultrafast in advanced preset) and such. http://www.twitch.tv/playerofsc2/b/485790302
