AVG anti-virus 7.5 free edition on windows ME, error message

this message occurs when i try to UNINSTALL AVG 7.1, i think?
a message much like it occurs when i just try to install the dl'ed avg 7.5


but, ive heard that ur supposed to check unistall AVg FREE when it asks u to, when ur doing the 7.5 installation

so, basically, any help would be appreciated.

When you do this, do you currently have AVG running on your desktop (you know, is the little icon there in the right hand corner of the screen)? If so, try exiting the AVG program before attempting to uninstall.

uhm, i think it might be running, but if i remember correctly, when i started the installation process the avg icon disapeered from the sys tray...so idk...when i have time to try that ill gert back, but any more suggestions?
will 7.5 take care of deleting 7.1?
