My PC is connected to an AVR. Unfortunately, I didn't notice there was too much stress on the plug that it suddenly gave up and caught fire. PC shut down as expected. But I worry that my PC components were affected. I didn't notice if anything happened to the PC other than it just shut down.

Mind sharing a picture of the damage? Seems like the audio cable caught fire, which doesn't make sense then again my brain is saying that the power lead to the AVR unit caught fire. Also, please pass on the specs to your build.

Please list them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include your audio equipment.

Is it the plug that powers the AVR?
Regardless....
I think most likely the PC is OK.
When the plug melted and caught fire....I wouldn't expect the voltage to go up (there would be no reason for it to)......which is what would be required to cause damage.
