Hello,

I just bought a desktop but I cant use it properly cause my monitor (samsung LED 19") shuts down every after 30 minutes? is it because of my power supply or the electric supply in our house? should I buy a UPS? please help.

If it's exactly 30 minutes, check the power manager setting in Windows and the monitor.

If it actually shuts off and at random times, get a new monitor.

if you dont touch the mouse for 30 minutes and the screen shuts off then i would tend to agree with it being the power saving mode. if you shake the mouse once in awhile and it doesnt shut off (shake it every 10 minutes or so) then this confirms the theory. you can change this to never if you wouldnt like this option.

as ht9 said.... if it shuts off randomly there might be a problem.
