[SOLVED] AVR VS SURGE PROTECTOR

I currently use AVR and I get static/ ground when I touch my PC. Can a surge protector help? or do i really need to set up a wire to the ground?

Neither an AVR or surge protector are going to fix that. Your outlet is missing Earth ground. In fact, a surge protector isn't even going to protect without ground because it sends surges to ground and if there's no ground, there's nowhere to send the surge to!

Probably not and be very careful.

If you are receiving an electrical shock via your PC then you system and/or residence has an electrical problem.

Do not try to set up another ground as that can cause problems just on doing so and/or aggravate the current problem.

You need an electrician to locate source current and fix the problem.
