[SOLVED] AW2518H using a Geforce RTX 2060 graphics card stuck @ 60hz can't figure out how to get to 240hz

My resolution is stuck @ 60hz for a 240hz compatible monitor AW2518H using a Geforce RTX 2060 graphics card. Need help have 4k compatible HDMI cable, when I plug just HDMI cable into computer nothing on screen, only shows video with a display port.

HDMI can only push 4K at a max of 60Hz with 2.0. In order to go beyond 60Hz you need to use DisplayPort and then configure the monitor under the nVidia control panel

G-Sync monitors are limited to 60 Hz over HDMI. You need to use DisplayPort.
