Awful object/shadow pop up in all games.

I have this issue for quite some time and its really annoying me. I have object and shadow pop up in pretty much all the games that I play, especially open world games. For example: GTA V, Far Cry Primal. Its usually visible on trees and random objects. I have no issues with the textures. I checked the temps and they look pretty normal to me: Processor 40-50 degrees celsius, graphic card 50-60 degrees celsius. My specs are: Phenom II X6 1090T 3,21 ghz, NVIDIA GTX 950 2GB, 8GB RAM 1600 mhz. I reinstalled Windows and formatted the drive where old windows was plus I changed many NVIDIA drivers and the problem is still present. BTW I have Windows 10. Please help.

Objects and shadows which show up when I am near them. And I played GTA V on Radeon HD 7790 so I dont think my graphic card is not powerful enough for it. And it worked good few weeks ago with the same graphic card.

Ah, render distance issues. That could be as simple as a game setting that's gotten borked. I'd check that, including finding the actual config file and opening it in a text editor (I recommend Notepad++). If that doesn't fix your issue, maybe check your GPU fans? Could be the GPU is getting throttled because it's getting too hot.

Also, I was just pointing out that GTA V has apparently been found to be poorly optimized, which means that weaker components could easily be the cause of many bugs and issues. Being able to play the game and being able to play the game well/properly are two different things.

My GPU isnt overheating since temperature while playing is around 50-60 degrees celsius. And of the GPU start working when temperature gets over 75 degrees celsius.

Saw a mistake in previous post. GPU fans start working when temperature gets over 75 degrees celsius*. I am going to delete settings file for GTA V to see if there are any improvement. And also, can this be PSU issue? Since my PSU isnt some good brand even if it is 550W. And when I change power plan to "power saver" I see some improvements with object pop in, but the performance worsens. Also my PSU has a weird coming from it.

The GPU fans should kick in right around 75 degrees, but they probably won't hit full power unless you get closer to 90.

You seem to have left out a word in your last sentence. Your PSU has a weird what coming from it? Smell? Sound? If it's either of those, then it probably is your PSU causing the issue.

Both smell and sound. Jesus, why am I skipping these words? I could have sworn I didnt. BTW the smell is kinda like burning plastic or burning rubber but the temps are ok and the sound is like an broken exhaust pipe, just a little bit quieter.

A quick update, cleaned some of the dust from the PSU fans and saw some improvements, but most of the dust is still deep in the PSU. Is there any way to clean the inside of it or should I buy a new PSU? BTW my PSU is MS Industrial 550 W. And I dont see any screws on the PSU to get inside of it.

You're smelling magic smoke. It's probably being slowly let out of a few components inside your PSU.

In other words, it's probably time to get a new PSU, as something inside yours has fried or is the process of frying. PSU's aren't designed to be user-serviceable due to the large capacitors inside which hold a big charge for a long time; this is why you don't see any obvious way to open the PSU.

I had an empty HDD so I wanted to try my luck because I thought this might be because of the HDD, but after putting it and removing my old HDD and testing with some games, I found the same problem. I opened my PSU and cleaned it (BTW there was a lot of dust in there) but still no results. I am thinking either about buying new PSU or going to my friends house who has a same GPU as me and putting his GPU into my computer to test it. I am feeling very sceptical about my GPU since I bought it at the end of the march 2017 from some guy in my town as an used GPU. I have a 2 year manufacturer warranty which he gave it to me and I can send it to a town which is 350 km away from my home. Is it worth doing that? I am just thinking about sending it and never seeing it again.

If your PSU is dying, as I suspect it is given the smell you mentioned, cleaning it out might help a little, but it won't fix the issue outright. I don't think your GPU is the issue. If you want to test your GPU, though, don't put it into your computer with a potentially bad PSU, put your GPU into his computer.

Ok I will put my GPU into his computer and test it and if it behaves good I will buy a new PSU.

While I am waiting (since I am going to my friends house to test this tomorrow) I just wanted to tell you about some details I noticed with this problem. So, when I walk around, for example, in GTA V i can see a circle around me, especially when I walk through the grass. In that circle which has about 2-3 meters or 6-9 feet radius, I can see loaded grass, bushes, shadows and objects, even some textures, while outside of it are just partially or non loaded object, textures, grass, shadows and bushes. I thought this detail might help you finding the solution for this problem. But anyway I will be testing this tomorrow with my friend. And yes BTW, I just noticed that some vehicles are popping up in the distance.

I maxed both distance scaling and extended distance scaling but the issue is still here. And BTW my PSU was bought in 2013 or 2014 as an used one, just so you know. I think I already mentioned it but anyway its MS Industrial 550W.

No they arent. Also I make changes in the game, not in the config file. Although I do know that all changes I make in the game go to the config file too.

Just to let you know, its present in all games, not just GTA V. Its present in Far Cry Primal, Mount & Blade Warband, Total War Attila (there is no circle in Attila since its RTS game but pop ups are visible) and other games too. And yes, the circle around me is most visible in Mount & Blade Warband.

Ok, now I'm pretty stumped. It's definitely a view range issue, but how could it span multiple games?...I'm afraid we've reached the limits of my knowledge; hopefully someone else here with more experience can help you. Sorry.

I'm definitely going to keep watching this thread; I want to know the answer just as much as you!

We tested the same games with my friend on his PC with his specs and it reacted the same. The pop ups are present even on his computer. BTW he has the same PSU as me. Nothing has changed, I even noticed that pop ups are worsening over time. What should I do now?

I put my GPU in his computer, same effect. I put his GPU in my computer, same effect. I tested those games on his rig, same effect. He has same PSU as me. Could this be an issue, since we both have the same PSU which maybe causes some problems?
