Hello, my corsair ax 860 fan wasnt spinning even under load , i have two evga 980s and a 4790k and i would expect them to draw enough watts to actually cause the fan to spin. there were no random shutdowns or reboots, nothing is overclocked and eveything boots up fine.
Also, does it matter which way my psu fan is, i have t facing upwards, would this cause any problems?
Thank you for your help.

Solution
It is thermally regulated, the case ventilation might be really good and keeping the temps away from fan spin up. This may be the case especially if you have water cooling and good airflow as you will not be dumping heat anywhere near the PSU.

Check the fan connector to the motherboard. Is it a 4 pin or 3 pin connector? What port on the motherboard is it connected to? Case fan #. Be sure it is turned on in the bios. The 4 pin connector fans are thermal regulated. If it isn't spinning you're probably fine. The 3 pin is a max spin or bios reg spin fan.

I am pretty sure he means the PSU fan which is connected internally. The AX series are incredibly well built PSU's. Super premium. I think it is just doing it's job very well and that there probably is no actual problem. Who would have thought to have an actually silent PSU. Lucky sod.

I have the ax860i, so it may be different, but my psu fan turns on when there's more then 30-40% load on it no matter what the temp is.

Try running a game or something for a several minutes and see if the PSU fan turns on. If not, its faulty. My first AX860i had a defective fan (was making
noises) so I had to return it.
