Question B360m ds3h 9th gen cpu

Hello! I just bought a b360m ds3h motherboard and a i5-9400f cpu and i read that to update to 9th gen i should have 8th installed already? Is there a way through this? Please help a newbie[emoji3590]

you have to have a 8th gen chip usually
small chance the mobo will post without it
but I wouldn't count on it
usually the shop you bought the mobo from will do this for you
if you bought off amazon or they just dont wanna do it
