Is a B450 with a decent VRM enough for gaming and streaming with a 3700x? I know it must have its bios updated, and that's not a problem. I am just asking if it suits a 3700x that won't ever be OCd and will be used 60% gaming, 30% streaming and 10% desktop/browsing/word, etc.

Thanks!

I had my 3700x running on my Asus ROG Strix B450-F for a few months and it worked very well.
I recently upgraded to an Asus ROG Strix X470-F and it does perform slightly better (due to the better VRMS) but I would not worry at all about running a 3700x on a decent B450.

Yeah, for sure. I'd go with an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX. Has the bios out of the box, has decent vrm's/phases and is plenty capable for the 3700x.

If you wanted PCIE 4, some more drive ports etc, then you could make the argument for an X570, but it's really not needed.

No, I really don't feel like the PCIe 4 is worth for me now, nor the extra ports. I was just wandering if the CPU will deliver optimal power on an older chipset like the B450 or if they are prone to breaking fast when paired. Thanks !

Even some B350 ran just fine the 12 core :D so I belive you will be OKEY. As long as you have decent airflow a decent mobo will run good.
But if you are looking at some B450 like tomawhak, you are probably better off just getting the X570 Pro 4, which is just a bit more expensive but worth it.
