So i built a pc with a B450 tomahawk, and i paired it with dual channel 8gb ram at 3200mhz. It appears that the mb doesnt detect my ram(?). Tried booting with my friend's ram at 2400mhz and it worked. I looked up the website and saw this on the spec sheet
"DDR4 MEMORY
1866/ 2133/ 2400/ 2667Mhz (by JEDEC)
2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466 MHz (by A-XMP OC MODE)"

Does this mean my motherboard is not compatible with this ram? If so then i got screwed by the vendor guy who told me these components are compatible. Requesting help on how i can use my 3200mhz sticks.

Thanks in advanced. Be easy on me, first timer here

Solution
"Installed" or "available"? My 16GB shows up in TM as having only 11.7GB available. Win uses some for itself, the gfx buffer sets some aside, the pgms/apps you have open uses some...
What is full system spec?

Have you tried booting with one of the 3200 sticks in the A2 slot? Did you enable XMP for RAM to work at 3200Mhz?

Have you tried clearing CMOS after booing with friend's RAM?
Hi there. My apologies for troubling you. But somehow we managed to fix the problem by setting up windows using his ram and re tweaked the speed in the bios using mine

I was going to suggest using your friends RAM to update the BIOS. The later AGESA codes should fix that. You might have gotten an older board.
Perhaps. There is one thing thats odd. I installed 8gb of dual channel ram, yet the task manager shows that i only have 5.9gb installed. What's up with that?
