It should work very well with a 2700x at stock speeds.
I considered the Tomahawk (and GAMING PRO CARBON AC) when I was building my current Ryzen 5 2600 rig, it is a very nice board that reviewed very well.
I ended up going with the ROG Strix B450-F though because it had all the features I needed and was on sale for $90 vs around $120-130 for the MSI boards.
