B450M S2H V1 rev. 1.x +Athlon 3000g issues (BIOS:F62d)
Got this cheap setup for a friend
  • B450M S2H V1
  • AMD Athlon 3000g
  • 16gb ram 3200
  • SATA SSD
  • No dedicated gpu
  • Monitor connected via vga cable
First thing i did was update the BIOS to F62d.
Then i proceed to install windows.
After i booted and updated everything, restarted to check some options on BIOS.

Strange thing 1:
  • If i disable CSM, after save/reboot i got no video from the motherboard logo, it just return a "no video" on the monitor and proceed to windows and everything goes fine.
  • If i pressed F2 on start after disable CSM i think it started the BIOS but i got stuck on the "no video" return (tested in different monitors). If i reset and don't press anything i got "no video" then windows.
  • Fixed it by resetting BIOS to default with a jumper, but tested and every time i disable CSM, the problem returns.

Strange thing 2 (the real problem):
  • To avoid any problem i just let the CSM on
  • The motherboard logo and BIOS always works 100%
  • But sometimes after the motherboard logo the Windows got the "no video" problem. I know the windows is started because i can hear the system responding on the headphone.
  • Sometimes the system starts normal but when it get the sleep mode the "no video" problem returns.
  • Sometimes just disconnecting and reconnecting the VGA cable make the video show up.
IMPORTANT
  • Tested 2 different monitors
  • Tested 2 different cables
  • Tested with 1 memory stick, switched memory sticks, etc
I was "doing a favor" to this friend now i have a problem, i hate myself.

Solution
Something new. It works in HDMI , but any VGA cable/monitor the problem shows up.
That could be either a cable or port problem.

You want HDMI anyway as that's the newer standard supporting higher refresh monitors and, as well, audio to the monitor if you have speakers or phone jacks on it.
You can't disable CSM mode if the system drive isn't operating in GPT. Check that as follows:

Do the CMOS reset so you can boot into Windows. Then check to make certain the system drive is operating in GPT mode.

In the Cortana search box type “PowerShell”, and then click “Windows PowerShell”. Type the “Get-Disk” commands and press Enter. Under the “Partition Style” column, you can see if the drive is using MBR or GPT partition scheme.

If it's still MBR that could be your problem.

[SOLVED] Not 100% but... The problem was on the VGA output of the motherboard. I used an HDMI and it worked.
I also changed latter in BIOS to not automatically select the video output, and choose to always start with the onboard video (didn't tested the VGA after that, but...). Anyway the HDMI worked and I just said them to ignore the other cable.
